CROYDON SILENT FILM.
We are pleased to present the Croydon Silent Film Competition. Showing silent films from the past and inviting you, the public, to enter silent films for the present. Let's renew the heritage of silent film in Croydon with some new talent, YOU! Croydon Silent Film is a collaboration between BFI, Croydon Council, The Croydon Citizen and the Heritage Lottery Fund. We are promoting the heritage of silent film in the Croydon area whilst bringing heritage to life and ruffling the feathers of this traditional medium of film. So get out your camera/phone/video camera today and get busy.
Please find below details of how to set up your film. If you require further guidance please check out the Raindance '8 Tips for Making Silent Movies' page. Here you will find a guide on making a silent film, however please feel free to go off course. You will also find the music you are allowed to use for the event and some intro screens that you may like to use to add that classic edge to your modern film. BFI will also be running numerous workshops in the Croydon area throughout June and July so keep your eye on our 'Workshop' page. We can't wait to see all your entries and we wish you the best of luck.
